Falcon Cheerleading is a 100% volunteer organization that provides girls in 2nd thru 8th grades an opportunity to learn fundamental cheerleading skills, tumbling and stunting with an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and safety. Squads are formed by grade and cheer every weekend between Labor Day weekend and mid November for the Hinsdale Falcon Football teams. Summer practices are 4 days a week and 2 to 3 times per week once school begins. In addition, all squads perform at the program’s main fundraiser, Falcon Fest and compete in competitions throughout the fall and may advance to the IRCA State Competition in December.
New families must attend the Information/Registration Meeting. Date to be determined. New squads are being formed for grades 2-4. There may be limited openings in grades 5-8. First come first served. The registration fee is $325 for 2nd-4th and $395 for 5th-8th.
A word to both old and new participants:
Before committing to Falcons please carefully consider the commitment you make to the program. Falcon cheerleaders are expected to work as a team by attending ALL practices, games, competitions and special events during the season. It is a long, demanding season, but well worth the effort!
Individual team coaches may begin practice as early as July 1. The squads cheer at home and away games on Saturdays and/or Sundays beginning Labor Day weekend thru mid-November. ALL squads perform at Falcon Fest (annual Falcon Football Fundraiser) and 1-3 competitions during the season. Participation inALL games, performances, and competitions is required!
Before signing up for our program, please review the attendance policy. Attendance rules are strictly enforced.
The season practice will begin the week of August 1st with MANDATORYpractices for all squads beginning the following Monday. Practice will continue thru mid-November. And, if your squad qualifies for the IRCA State Competition, practices will continue through early December.
Hinsdale Falcons is a community based feeder program to Hinsdale Central High School. Thus, priority registration is given to the communities who feed into District 86. Once community registrations have been completed we will offer any openings to children from outside our community. If there is an existing BGYFL program offered in your town you will need their board approval before registering.
One final note: Falcon Cheer participants cannot participate during the season on any other competition squad, (AKA, but not limited to All Stars/clubs). The exception is your elementary/middle school’s squad (example: cheering for HMS, CHMS and Butler JH is allowed).
